The birthstone for June is Alexandrite. Pearl is also recognized as June's birthstone.
Alexandrite represents balance, luck, and transformation; believed to bring prosperity and good fortune. The stone color changes from greenish-blue in daylight to reddish-purple under incandescent light. Pearls are hard, glistening objects formed inside the shells of mollusks, primarily oysters and freshwater mussels. They are composed of calcium carbonate (aragonite) and conchiolin, and come in a variety of colors and shapes.
