Alexandrite represents balance, luck, and transformation; believed to bring prosperity and good fortune. The stone color changes from greenish-blue in daylight to reddish-purple under incandescent light. Discovered in Russia and named after Russian Tsar Alexander II, it was considered a stone of royalty and prestige. The stone can now be found in Brazil, Sri Lanka, and Madagascar.
